We will be talking about nutrition the next two weeks in gym class.  We will learning about the different food groups and my plate.  We will be talking about what foods are healthy and unhealthy for us to eat as well as making sure we get enough physical activity.  Kids should be physically active at least 1 hour everyday!  This is a great time to start talking about what foods make our body strong.  Mealtime is a perfect way to talk to your kiddos about nutrition.  Ask them about the food groups and get them involved in the kitchen.  Make healthy snacks together as a family.  A great resource is www.choosemyplate.gov.  Let's get healthy together!  Good foods + physical activity = strong bodies!
